Attendance was pretty good for a night without a presentation. About 30 people. Some faces we haven't seen in a long while.
Room (Greece) was large. A second mid-sized room (Canada) will also be used from time to time, so great space.
I asked if people had trouble finding street parking and the response was it was plentiful.
Lots of free pizza and pop.
Building doors are locked at 6pm. A recent break-in has meant tighter security. Our
Qpass host, Jake Watson, indicated that someone will be there to let people in for future meetings after 6:30pm (the meeting space is on the lobby floor not far from the entrance). You should also be able to call a cell phone number to let someone know you're waiting outside.
It was nice to hear what everyone there is working on as a benefit of the open discussion format. We had a diverse group attend.
The November presentation will be on
Wicket. Feel free to suggest angles of interest for the presenters through the
mailing list.
We adjourned to the
Virginia Inn afterward which was a decent space for a dozen people.
