SeaJUG is an all volunteer effort - which means items such as the website and mailing list are updated as schedules afford. We meet on the 3rd Tuesday of every month. We need suggestions/volunteers for topics! If you'd like to donate your time/skills to the cause, contact Nimret Sandhu.

21 Oct 2014 : Hunting Killer Bugs... Algorithmically

VideoVideo      Slides

My job at Coverity is finding new and better ways to find coding mistakes automatically, so that they can be found early in the development cycle. My focus is Java, where although language safety excludes some of the "killer bugs" seen in C/C++, there are still plenty of ways to screw up. I will talk about some of our successes and ongoing challenges, and we'll have some fun playing "spot the bug" in real examples taken from open-source software.

Speaker: Peter Dillinger

Engineer at Coverity for last 5 years. Relocated to the new Seattle office about a year ago, to be near family. Ph.D. from Northeastern (Boston), M.S. and B.S. from Georgia Tech.
