15 Oct 2013: Greenfield Java in 2013

VideoVideo      Slides

If you were going to start a brand new Java application today, what tools and frameworks would you use? In this presentation, we will look at a specific sample project showing the integration of popular new technologies including DropWizard, MongoDB, and Bootstrap integrated with automated tests at every tier. We'll talk about how to tackle support for mobile, tablet and desktop from a single code base, and we'll discuss methods for evaluating if a particular technology is going to take off beyond simple personal preference. Audience participation is going to be a big part of this presentation - join us for what will be sure to be a lively conversation!
