Dad was out here visiting during the week of May 11th through May 18th. Unfortunately, we ended up having a lot of rain during that week - I guess I wanted to make him feel right at home .. like seattle :P .. though we wished the weather had cooperated, we did manage to go check out a few places. We braved the rain to hang out at a cafe in Harvard square. Then we decided to walk to the Fogg Art Museum and the Sackler Museum at Harvard Yard. After doing some coffee talk, the rain seemed to have slowed down so we thought we'd take our chances exploring the museums -- of course on our walk over, it promptly starting pouring again. Furthermore, as we walked through Harvard yard looking for the museums, there were some very large puddles -- needless to say our socks, shoes, clothes - everything - got pretty wet. On the bright side, we were able to dry off in the museums before continuing on with our dinner plans with reema!
Boston Common - I bet this will be an awesome place to hang on a sunny day
The weather did look a little dark on Monday morning but we decided to go check out downtown Boston anyway. It turned out to be a good think since it was overcast but it didn't rain and dad & I ended up having a really good time walking around town. Boston is a very walkable area - we did a fair bit of walking, the Boston public library was amazing but we still didn't see a lot of interesting places.
one of the many old churches around this area
Dad being the tourist :-)
