Before Grad School

I received my BSc at the University of Washington in the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics in 2000. I had the opportunity to work on two fun projects as an undergraduate: the >>K2X RLV project and a senior design project called 'On-orbit satellite servicing' (OASiS) project.

After receiving my degree, I worked with >>Tethers Unlimited for a few months. In March 2001, I started at >>JPL as a flight systems engineer and had the opportunity to work on the Mars Sample Return (MSR) project doing some simulation work for the long range rendezvous sensor being developed for MSR. I also did mission design work on a technology validation project. On the Mars Exploration Mission >>MER project I was part of the Entry Descent and Landing team. JPL is a fabulous place to work though I didn't like living in the LA area very much.

Misc Engineering Activities

I was involved with the >>UW chapter of engineers without borders. Our project is the storage and irrigation of water in a small community in Bolivia, the Yanayo community. It is located in the Cochabamba region, (18.2deg W, 65.59deg S)

Outside of Grad School

I've recently discoverd, there is an outside =P
I'm originally from India and have lived in the Pacific Northwest for about half my life, off and on .. I suppose I consider myself a 'Seattlite'.

My mom (kamal) + dad (raghbir) and my computer-nerdy brother (nimret) who is happily married also live in the Seattle area.

After MS

..I was living in Boston and working at >>MIT Lincoln Labs and enjoying myself in Boston till Aug 2008. Since Sept. of 2008, I was traveling in Nepal and India for about 10 months.

Sports / Adventures

Love to play soccer .. I generally play with a co-rec team @ the UW. Being in the pacific northwest implies lots of opportunities for outdoor activities like hiking, biking, climbing (which I haven't done much of, but would really like to get more into).
